SATO America, Inc. Acquires NODOS S.A.
5/3/2010
May 03, 2010 - SATO, a pioneer in the Automatic Identification and Data Collection (AIDC) industry and a leader in barcode printing, labeling, and EPC/RFID solutions, announced today that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire NODOS S.A., a privately held corporation based in Buenos Aires, Argentina. As the region’s most renowned integrator of AIDC and Point-of-Sale (POS) solutions, NODOS has been leading the way in affordable and scalable solutions since 1983.
In 1993, NODOS strategically decided to make SATO products its main product line based on product reliability and support and their systems integration expertise. The NODOS team of highly technical and knowledgeable professionals has been and will continue to sell and service SATO solutions through an extensive channel of established partners.
The acquisition creates a collaborative platform in the region with many of the industry-leading manufacturers of AIDC technologies to deploy end-to-end solutions that integrate with enterprise, warehouse, medical, and supply chain applications.
NODOS will merge its software and hardware applications with SATO’s worldwide operations to support the joint development of new products that will positively impact multiple industries and further SATO’s presence in the region.
“The partnership with NODOS over the past several years has been very successful for both companies,” said Bob Linse, president of SATO America. “SATO’s presence in the region has been greatly expanded by working closely with the NODOS team. We are extremely pleased with this acquisition and welcome NODOS to the SATO team that will enhance our systems integration solutions to our customers.”
Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
